CONCERNED CITIZENS OF CALABASAS
Open House at Chaparral Elementary, Liberty Bell Rd. ( late afternoon )
By comparison Chaparral Elementary School has a much
smaller student count attending that school, Liberty Bell Road
had vehicles parked almost the entire length of the street.
Try to imagine the cars moving through the area looking for parking,
the proposed middle school parking lots combined will be designed to accommodate
less than 1/3 the projected need for major events every other Vehicle will park in
surrounding streets.
Clearly the district says the Children will walk to school, maybe a few living
at the level of the Hellman property, but the majority will ride the bus or be driven by
parents causing backed up traffic possibly for a considerable distance, there will be only one lane on
Mulholland Highway in each direction. Take a look at A. E Wright middle
school about 20 minutes before school starts.
When you have Calabasas High, Chaparral Elementary and Louisville High in
close proximity it will nearly cause gridlock in the area for a long period of time. Any emergency vehicles would have great difficulty moving around the area.
Special activity parking is also a major concern with limited visitor parking spaces
the streets in the area will become annoying parking lots.
